Prices & fees: what we track, what we don't

Honest answer first: no pumper's price publishes on this directory except where the operator publishes it themselves or states it to us — pumping quotes move with tank size, access, and what the visit includes, and any number we printed uninvited would be wrong by the time you read it. What we can publish today is the honest range from our own review: website-quoted residential pump jobs across the Treasure Valley ran roughly $376–$493 in October 2026, attributed to that review and dated. As operators state their numbers — on their sites or to us directly — their listings carry them verbatim, sourced.

Why "what's included" beats the headline number

Two pumpers can quote the same price for very different jobs. The rows worth comparing are on every listing here:

  • What's included — locating, digging to lids, pumping both compartments, filter cleaning, disposal. A quote that skips disposal isn't the same quote.
  • Extra-fee triggers — deep-buried lids, a second tank, high groundwater, after-hours or weekend work.
  • Same-day / emergency pricing — what urgency costs, stated before you need it.
  • Inspections — offered, and priced apart from the pump or bundled with it.

When a pumper tells us their terms — by phone or from their own site — the listing publishes them as told to us, with the date. We don't estimate, round, or "help." If an operator won't state a term, the row keeps saying confirming — which is itself an answer.

The permit angle nobody prices

Idaho septic pumping permits run through the public health districts: Central District Health covers Ada County, Southwest District Health covers Canyon County and the southwest counties. Every listing in this directory carries the operator's status against the state's permitted-pumper list (July 2026 update) — a badge means they're on it; no badge makes no claim either way, because permits often file under a business name different from the one on the truck. Checking the badge costs you nothing and rules out a whole class of problems before you dial.

Ballparks worth knowing

  • The measured range: roughly $376–$493 for a website-quoted residential pump across the valley, October 2026 — the only price fact on this site with our name on it.
  • Frequency is the real budget: at a three-to-five-year cycle, a pump is a modest annualized cost; an emergency pump plus a stressed drainfield is not. The calendar is the cheapest maintenance there is.
  • Cheapest window: the routine, pre-booked, pre-winter pump — not the January one with frost over the lids.

Ranges last reviewed 2026-10-03; they're general information, not quotes. Verified operator terms: each listing as calls complete.
