How we list

This directory is built by hand, entry by entry, off two public sources and a phone. Here's exactly how it works.

Where the roster comes from

  • The Idaho DEQ Permitted Septic Tank Pumpers List (July 2026 update) is the backbone. We parsed the two metro health-district sections — Central District Health (Ada County) and Southwest District Health (Canyon County) — into listings: name, address where the state publishes one, county, phone.
  • Google's local packs for septic pumping searches across Boise, Meridian, Nampa and Caldwell supplied ratings context, current phone numbers and locations — and the duplicates.
  • A few operators appear in one source and not the other. That's not a red flag — permits often file under a business name different from the brand on the truck — so those listings carry a permit status unconfirmed badge instead of a permit badge, and the verification calls reconcile them. No claim is made either way until then.

The dedupe — why there are fewer listings than map pins

Several valley operators maintain multiple Google profiles: one septic company keeps three profiles on one phone number across Boise, Nampa and Caldwell; another answers three different numbers under one name. The map treats those as separate businesses. This directory lists the business once, carries every known number on the listing with its source, and says plainly when a reconcile is pending. That's most of the curation value of a directory like this one.

Verification — the sourcing ladder

  • From the state permit list (July 2026) — the strongest source; the badge and the card say so.
  • From the operator's own Google profile — the profile they registered themselves; the card says that too.
  • Verification call pending — when neither checks out, no number publishes. We never list a number we can't attribute.
  • Verification calls also fill the price & fee rows: what a pump includes, extra-fee triggers, same-day policy, inspections. Operator-stated terms carry their source and date; phone-quoted terms publish as told-to-us, date-stamped. Nothing is estimated, ever.

Why every number is tappable

A directory that hides the phone number behind a form isn't much of a directory. Every number here publishes with its source — the state permit list, the operator's own Google profile, or a verification call — and once it's sourced, it taps straight through from the listing.

Order and ranking

Listings are grouped by county, and within each page they appear in a different order on every visit — the page shuffles its cards each time it loads, so no operator is first by default. We don't sell position. If we ever offer clearly marked featured placements, they'll be labeled as such — nothing else changes.

What we are not

We're not a septic company, not a broker, and not affiliated with any listed business. We don't take a cut of any job — you deal with the operator directly. And nothing price-shaped on this site is ours: it's either the operator's own published number or a range from our attributed, dated review.
